I'm looking into a water cooled setup for our Linclon Percision TIG 225 in the shop. I'm doing some dammage to the stock torch when really laying into some larger parts.

I'm staring at prices near a grand for the cooler/curculator then ~100 for the torch. The animal in the back of my head keeps screaming "BULLSHIT YOU HAVE MOST OF A ME DEGREE YOU CAN MAKE ONE OF THESE EASY!" so I waas thinking about trying it.

Anyone have any experiance?

120 electric motor, vane pump, barbed hose fittings, old cbr radiator, 120 fan, more fittings, torch? Run it off of the accy curcuit on the welder.

The company I work for makes a pressurized-air-cooled TIG torch that runs off of shop air (anywhere from 40-140psi) and does not need any type of recirculator. It also has the advantage of not burning up if you do forget or don't want to plug the air in. I could probably get you one for pretty cheap if you're interested.

I would buy the torch/cables. No point in experimenting with water/current and killing your self.

I was told a cooler kit for say a Syncrowave (Miller) was around $600-1000 depending on how many amps your machine was.

Google it, I did see some DIY setups. The pumps can be found on ebay for under $100.

yeah that was the plan, I guess I wasn't too clear. No need messing with the torch over $100...

Scott, sounds cool, but we are limited on air too...

Why not use the buildings cold water to circulate through the torch and dump down the drain? Maybe a little wasteful but its not that much water. Thats how we do it.
