Daft question:

Does anybody know of an aerospace equivalent of a Claude Rouelle FSAE seminar? Have friends at Boeing or the likes?

I'm finding I last did aero-related stuff too long ago to be up to speed with what others are doing at work, and I'd be willing to drop $2k for a weekend or $5k for a week of Claude Rouelle style teaching.

Primarily wing design and overall aircraft stability - not too interested in flight equipment, powertrains or structures.

Cheers,

Check out:

Blakelock, J. H. (1991). 'Automatic Control of Aircraft and Missiles'. New York, John Wiley & Sons, Inc.

It is the best book in the world.

a couple of years back, i went to Paul Glessner's aero seminar. It was during one of the PRI show, so i was able to get in as a student with an SAE discount. So it was around $150 i think.

I personally didnt like it because most of the stuff that he talked about were all basics. But maybe because at the time, most of the attendees were not very familiar in the aero area (i kinda think that was the reason, because he kept on getting a lot of questions when he talked about reynolds number, a lot of ppl cant seem to get what it was).

So ... give it a try ... you might like it. Here's the web address ...

Cheers UQ, will check it out

Vehicle-specific stuff wasn't really what I was looking for RiNaZ, thanks for the suggestion though.
