Wonder how many people this has happened to.. didn't have any of these until this last year.

First..

Was late March. Car wasn't anywhere near done yet. Dreamed that the month of April basically didnt happen, and went from March directly to May and competition, and that we were at competition trying to bolt up uprights and crap and the tech inspectors were like "Are you serious? Your car isnt even done yet." What's really bizzarre is my co-captain had the same dream the same night. Though in mine, Guns n Roses was playing continually at competetion..

Second..

We now build the car in this new "welding shop" we have. Its small. Got some welding and setup tables, a big TIG, oxy acetylene rig, etc. While putting together the car room was always tight and you'd be bumping into stuff. At the time we had two spare acetylene tanks.. one big empty one and one smaller full one. Neither were chained to anything, and were just kinda chillin near one of the tables. So for a couple nights straight I was dreaming that I'd be in the welding shop doing something, see someone knock into one of the acetylene tanks, watch it slowly fall over while yelling "OHH F(*$#)@!!!" running for the door and having the whole place explode.

After that I promptly had the empty tank tagged and the other chained up. It was really f'in with my brain. That and working all night every night and not really eating or sleeping..

The night before I got my aerodynamics final mark back I dreamed that I flunked the class. Sure enough, the next day I found an F. Then, I rewrote the final exam and two nights before I got the mark back I dreamed I got 78% and passed. I actually got 79% though...

I hadn't with the team since three monts prior when I got a job 300 miles north. Well I'm back in town the night before my deparmental graduation which was also the night before endurance for West in '06. That night I had a dream that I was in California with the team and the MSD ignition module, which we hadn't actually run since '04, had a catastrophic failurre and I was there trying to get it fixed so we could get the car out to the endurance event. We got it fixed but that was where the dream ended. When I talked to some of the guys later that day they actually had some rushed excitement right before endurance but it involved replacing a starter clutch.

I had a couple of dreams before this past detroit event as well. They were better dreams and also more forgettable as I can't seem to recall any specifics.

Needless to say, a little over a year after I last worked on an FSAE car I miss it like nothing else.

i had a similar one where i woke up and it was the morning of the aussie competition and all we had was a chasis and motor hooked up. we basically race taped the car up. the judges said that we were a disgrace to the fsae competion but still allowed us to compete. i cant remember what happened but i didnt see the car compete only saw the track.

The track was indoors, dirt and had a few steep jumps in it. and apparentlly we finished the autox which amazed me. lol

I once had a dream that we were loading the car in to the trailer for the inagural test before competition. One of the guys, engine team leader, let go of the car while it was on the trailer ramp and it rolled down the street behind our shop. It bounced off of one curb bending up the front wheel and a-arms. The car then came to rest in the middle of the street only to get T-boned by a dodge ram truck. It was in a million peices.

I look over to the engine guy and ask him why he let go of the car. He replied "I didnt like a-arms or the chassis. I was looking for a good excuse for me to rebuild them."

I woke up in a sweat that night. What a dream to have before the first drive.

I haven't had a dream yet but quite a few times during and after the big push before Detroit, I would be passing out or get woken up by my girlfriend and I'd basically be totally out of it. I usually don't even remember what I say but I'm told I told my girlfriend "not to weld that there" and "Don't cut that tube" haha

I've had the dream that we're driving the car back from the welding building to our room, before the brakes were bled properly, and the driver drives the car into a light pole and bends the a-arms....oh wait......that did happen.....

I had a dream that i was driving the car.... and close to finish line... we were like last of all of the cars... somehow we had to win are all hell would break loose.... and then i realised...

we have a flux capacitator.... i pressed a big red button on the steering wheel.. and the car shot front.. with flames shooting from the sidepods....and then i dissapeared.... and re appeared at he finish line.. for the win....

And then Tommy lee came and told me the meaning of life...and how winning IS everything.

And then i woke up .

thats not weird.... is it...
