just watching the speed coverage of the German grand prix (watched the TSN coverage this morning but it sucks) and they mentioned that BAR showed up with front halfshafts and a diff to keep the inside wheel from locking up in braking. Aparently the FIA killed it before it went anywhere and fined them or something.
Anyone know any more info? |

The system was a computer controlled LSD between the from wheels to prevent wheel locking under braking (and if you saw the race, you know it would have come in VERY handy).
It seems that they were not fined, but they were told not to use it. t was only installed in one of the spare cars. Geoff Willis (BAR tech director) suggested that they could appeal its use. Here's a article that mentions it http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/motorsport/formula_one/3923239.stm Jon Rawlings Electromotive, Inc. Kansas State Univ Formula SAE 2001-2004 |

This sounds far more realistic than the regenerative braking thing that I heard, but Isnt it gonna get Angry Joe carrying on about trailbraking?
