I could see sub 4 second 0-60 times in that car... its all about the AWD launch... Make yourself a boost controller for $20, add a decent intercooler and I think those numbers are achievable if you drive it like you hate it.

My "basic mods" might be a little skewed compared to others. I have a larger turbo (16G), intercooler, cams, polished head and all the supporting fuel componants. The 3.89 sec 0-60 was done with race gas at the track. It pushes a little under 400 HP at the engine according to trap speeds.

1G DSMs are fast for cheap, low 12s on stock turbos, 11 sec street/daily driven cars. They can become money pits though, but so is my car.

Right now '91 Firebird LO3 runs mid 14s and is a perfect daily driver still(mid 16 sec car stock). For sale soon.

Hopefully in ~6 weeks I'll have my real car done '89 Trans Am GTA with a 350 and procharger D1-SC supercharger. The car has been sitting in NY for the last yr with ~$4000 in parts just waiting for school to end.

Also have 2 '88 Dodge daytona Shelby Z's that used to be winter beaters, and will soon be for sale. 2.2 4 cyl. turbo, snow, and $1300 = FUN.

I am sorry to say that I traded my 96 dodge grand caravan for a 02 mustang about 2 weeks ago. there was so much more utility with the van, but the mustang puts a smile on my face. and my summer car is a 1959 Ford Galaxie- Fairlane 500. They only made it for about 6 months.

Oh Yeah, I forgot about the race car. I also own a 1999 Tony Kart with a Japanese Honda RS 125cc engine. It is the most fun you could have.

How about fuel injection on that thing? Wink I've got a 1970 Mach 1 that I have spent enough time and money to be embarrased about. Need a slightly used 351C? How about a shaker?

Angry Joe,

I've run quite a bit with philly region. In fact, those pictures were taken at Nazareth when i was co-driving with Rob Leone while his MR2 was out of service. I think he's driving in that 2nd pic.

I haven't run with Philly region for about a year due to other racing projects, but I ran a little more than two full seasons. I ran winter season 2001 through the end of the summer of 2002. I also ran quit a bit with the NNJ and SJR crowds.

Are you with Drexel? You guys gotta come out the next Nazareth event. We won't be there this weekend though as we're taking the car to a DC reigon autocross.

Your Tiburon wouldn't be the one that crossed the finish line backwards at Camden, would it? Talk about style points Big Grin

I suppose most of you haven't had the misfortune to drive a Mitsubishi (Bitsarmising/Bitsarshiti) Sigma. Mine is an old 1981 model 2.6lt 4cyl muscle car. This is my day to day traveller, and although I bag it out, it's done over 440,000km and doesn't miss a beat. I have a project vehicle though, which is a 1969 HT Holden Kingswood. It has a 253 under the bonnet. Nice old classic chromey three on the tree. Unfortunately unregistered, so I'm not driving it at the moment.
