Just wondering what automotive taste of the rest of the Formula SAE members was.

I put in light-up squirters, a triple deck wing, and two tanks of NAWZ! I can't have my car top out at 140! Actually, it's a cheap car to own and modify. A good contender in C Street Prepared. |

I'd been meaning to start it myself
What I drive: Fiats... '78 128 Rally (FSP autox car) '76 128 Sedan (under resto) '73 128 Sedan (basket case awaiting resto) '86 X1/9 (daily driver) '68 124 Wagon (parts hauler) The Rally is my autox/hillclimb car. I was prepping it for FSP autox competition until I joined FSAE two years ago. Cause 5 of my past 11 cars were civics and I love 'em (even if to many people do too). And I thought I was going to be doing the hour commute to CSU-Northridge at the time. i have a 92 civic w/ a 1.8L DOHC VTEC; ITR pistons, cams & con rods, & 75hp N20.
also APEXi N1 suspension, volk wheels, and other stuff. heres a pic I auto-x it, but with the engine swap my classification sucks so i dont do it often. I do mostly drag racing w/ a best time of 13.002 at 108.8MPH...maybe thats why im on the engine team for FSAE. from one Honda 4cyl to another.. |

1965 Chevrolet Malibu (partially completed)
1950 Chevrolet pickup (partially completed) both made to look good but they're not much use on the track, actually they are worthless on the track. And the daily driver is the 1986 Pontiac Parisiene (think of your grandpa's big ass boat) and don't ask how to pronounce it, I don't know. This rig gets a whopping 18 mpg on the highway. It can haul six people (comfortably), fit 2 Honda F4 engines, my bicycle and a fat chick in the trunk and still not bottom out. Any one else have any love for engines with more than 6 cylinders? |

Well I can't leave this one alone...
1974 Datsun 260z (Daily Driver) 1972 Datsun 240z (Project) Gotta love these cars... the 72 has an 82 turbo engine, SDS, NPR I/C, lots of other goodies too. The 74 is getting me through school, and keeping a grin on my face at the same time. Well, being a starving student, I'm limited in what I have
86 Camaro, 2.8 5spd 200HP 89 Daytona, N/A They're both good on gas, and the Camaro runs 14's on regular......the first time you run a 7000RPM shift with a GM 6-cyl is a little leary. Daily driver and long haul special:
1960 Ford F100 351W HO, 5spd manual w/overdrive, IFS, road race spec torsion bars This poor beast gets me back and forth between work in Nevada and school in Michigan every three months (Kettering is a coop school). As you can see Michigan hasn't been kind to her. The 2002 version of our car just BARELY fits. While I'm in Nevada I drive a 78' Datsun 280Z and an 81' 280ZX that function as rally/autocross/commuter cars. I paid $200 for the pair, so between the two I usually have one running. I am lucky enough to roll around in a '91 buick riviera, with the fake cloth top (which I had to rivet back on after it peeled off while doing 90 in michigan). I also have the 170,000 mile manumatic transmission, which requires you to hold the pedal to the floor in order to downshift when passing. My car is my main motivation for finishing school. I hate everyone driving a nice car right now. Just so you know.

Thanks for the complements.
Don't be too jealous, nice cars are high maintenance to go along with the fun factor. Plus, I don't even have the Buick at school anyway... my dad gets to drive it. She runs mid-12s in street trim and could possibly run high 11s with race fuel and slicks. Eric Wort UIUC Formula SAE |
