Just have a general question on brake problem that i have with our Baja car. The brakes wont lock up and we've been bleeding the lines and change the pump a couple of times and it still doesnt lock up.

This year, we have a different team doing the baja, and they are having the same problem that we had. The competition is this thursday, so we're frantically trying to figure out what is wrong with it.

Last year, we put shims in the brake so that we could pass brake test. I hate to suggest this year's team to the same thing.

So i was wondering any of you guys who have baja experience, maybe could share some experience on getting the brakes done.

I used the brake system taken off from 600cc bike. I cant remember the name, but i think it starts with a Y. The rotor is around 8" i think.

This year's team uses a wilwood brakes ... i think it's those small wilwood brakes used on formula cars.

Any suggestion?

Double check that your master cylinders aren't leaking past their internal seals... cap them off and apply pressure. Or you can take them apart and inspect the seals.

that's exactly what i did, and we changed the master cylinders at least 3 times even going to new ones (the last two were off some junkyards ).

but the current baja team is using a brand new wilwood brakes from calipers all the way to master cylinders. By right, their unit should work right off the box.
