I've seen a few promo videos out there in FSAE-land. (specifically University of Washington's, which is great) I was just wondering how many other teams have promo videos made, and on the web? Please append with a link if you have them.
Unfortunately we had just 1 day with a camera and a very small lot to test in, but still came up with something. Formula UVIC Promo Video (19 Megs) You'll need DivX 5.0.2 for this one. (www.divx.com) Comments? Lets see your video! ------------------------- UVIC Formula SAE Team http://fsae.uvic.ca |

Pretty good!
I've made a couple Auburn videos. None are online right now, I'll see if I can upload a low-res version. I made a different video for member recruiting and sponsor recruiting. They have slightly different purposes and viewpoints. Might I suggest incorporating still shots into your video. They have as big an effect as short video clips and you probably have a lot of them laying around. I also use .wmv video formatting, it is more compact than .avi (even divx). it is slightly lower quality but there is no download necessary. That's a big plus for sponsors IMO. -Charlie Ping Auburn University FSAE 1999-present |

I dropped the resolution a notch, it's not so great, but a faster download. 12.5 Megs. We didn't shoot any specific video for this, I just compiled what we had (which isn't much). The music is old school, better for sponsors -Charlie Ping Auburn University FSAE 1999-present |

We have a bunch of videos on our site. The first two are a video that some guys made to play during our first meeting for new members. The others are just footage of driving.

Cal Poly Pomona has posted some new videos worth checking out. www.csupomona.edu/~fsae
These are our 2000 entry in both Detroit (in car of the endurance, our first driver. Tech made us remove the camera during the driver change... I guess duct tape and velcro weren't sufficient in their eyes) Formula Student (This video is courtesy of IMeche, our driver doing exhibition laps on the endurance track), and lastly some full scale wind tunnel testing of the car. If you have any comments, we'd like to hear them. Thanks and enjoy, Oliver Kho Cal Poly Pomona |

Yeah..I actually just put our vidoes online. The 2002 one is really cool, but again like everyone elses they ae low res so that it's just a little download. I plan to upload a bigger version soon and offer both.

hey guys, a member of our team said we should get our videos up here for you all to see. our video guy (Ben) spends a lot of time putting these together, and they have some kickass video and soundtracks to go along with. each is a depiction of the cars design, construction, and the competition.
the videos are each about 6 minutes long, and require Divx 5.0.2 compression. email me if you have problems downloading. each video is approx 50 megs. That's a very nice video, VERY well done. Professional quality. But 73 ft-lbs of torque? If you made that at 6000 RPM it'd be over 80 HP. Maybe you meant 37?

Funny Charlie, I first found that video from McGill a few months ago, and was totally impressed with it. But the 73ft-lbs figure is utterly amazing (or ridiculous).

Yeah I know about this wrong value but this was an estime one of our team member gives to the guy doing the video... don't worry... we do not have the highest hp of all FSAE cars. ;-)
Still... it is impressive for non-fsae members... Good luck in the continuation of your car... David Lemire Team Leader McGill Racing Team |

Yeah - that McGill video is pretty sweet. I always new that Fuel was a good song to set a racecar to! Question, are the engine sounds really yours, because they sound awfully Indycarish

They haven't been "officially" posted on the site yet but you guys can download these two sample videos. The first two videos are from testing on small, tightish autocross tracks at uni. The first video is in-car the second shot regularly. I'll get some more stuff up soon including our wind tunnel smoke vis. The third video is from the Race, Endurance Event. Out of interest the orange car that we pass is from South Australia and was built by a team of 4 people. The other tiny blue car is the single cylinder Tokyo Denki car which will be in the states this year, probably with more horsepower(from 40 up to 60ish?) and down to about 160kg. I think it weighed 180kg in Australia.

Just wondering. Keep the vids coming people. (Bam Bam perhaps...? If you're not too busy of course...)
