Since The University of Alabama is playing spectator this year due to an unfortunate accident (I'll post about that later), here's a few of the photos I took today at the event.

Anyone know what happened to the UMR car, and if they will be competing in the rest of the events? UMR told me that they had oil aeration issues with their dry sump. Resulting in a hole in the block. They didn't want to risk blowing their spare engine, so they are done for the weekend. |

That just can't be right. That's just dumb. Really dumb. I wasn't there and don't know all of the details, and they haven't returned my call yet.
The only reason I can think of for not using the spare engine is if they think they can do MUCH better in California in a couple weeks and don't have another engine or enough cash to get one. But, they completed all of the events up to enduro without what appears to be a major mishap, so I'm not so sure about that theory. Maybe somebody on the team can chime in about that. Looks like you guys had real nice weather. I just hope FSAE West isn't like last year. Felt like it was well over 100deg.
