Where are people getting their fuel rails? It appears as though many teams have some sort of extruded aluminum rail, which I have also seem in stock automotive apps. If this is the case, how easily is the spacing adjusted to spec?

Currently we are using a machined rail which is too heavy, and the spacing is slightly off, as it was modified from an F2 to an F4.

Cheapest place I've found to buy the extruded rail is Force Fuel Injection (force-efi.com). If their stock is too heavy (or yours is) then chuck it up in a lathe or throw it on a mill and start removing some material. I had to machine quite a bit of one side of ours last year in order to clear one of our plenums. Saved weight and there was still plenty of material left so that reliability would not be compromised.

As for spacing, you will have to determine what your specs are and then machine the rail to match. If your injectors are lined up in the middle of the intake ports, you just have to figure out a good way to measure the spacing of the ports in the head.

I think we will be running the stock F4i Fuel rail with the stock injectors. We may replace the steel one with an aluminum one, but I think that teh sizing will be identical.

We used that extruded fuel rail stock for a few years, which we turned down from its massive size. last year and this year we made our own from a steel tube, with pods for the injectors welded on. turned the pods on the lathe. works out nicely.
