How do you calculate the contact ratio between a pinion gear and a rack gear? All i've found is how to calculate the ratio between two gears by using their radii. But the rack radii is infinity....so how are you guys doing it?

plot a graph of contact ratio as the diameter of your driven gear increases towards infinity, the answer becomes obvious.
