From the picture/caption,looks lie you are using IR to take temperatures of tires.... I would highly suggest getting a tire pyrometer, it will much more accurately and precisely get you tire temps.

I can't tell, is that fuel tank neck surrounded by part of the side impact structure? We got pulled up in scruitineering last year for a similar thing.
